AtrilStudio Project

Part IV: Get Started

Final Considerations

To get started, you’ll be redirected to AtrilStudio. There, you will submit your first test recording for validation and begin your participation in the project.

A few final notes. If any of your submissions are unacceptable, you’ll be contacted to re-record those segments prior to getting paid.

From previous participants, we have found the following to be the most common mistakes:

  • Clicking sounds
  • Other speakers
  • Lack of spontaneity
  • Mouth noises
  • Background noise
  • Poor acoustics
  • Sounding like you’re reading from a script
  • Not expressing emotion
  • Not within the required time limit

***IMPORTANT!***

What you actually say is not analyzed. No one will be focusing on the content of your story. Only the emotion and way of speaking are important.

Segments can be quite short. Do not exceed the timer. This will be obvious when you are doing the recordings. However, please note that each recorded segment must last at least one second. Also, please take care to end your segment recording right after you stop speaking so that you do not leave an extended period of silence at the end.

If you would like to see the complete list of prompts, they are available in the Complete Style Guidelines in Appendix A.
